Addressing the SCO Defence Ministers' Meeting in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, Singh emphasized the urgent need for a unified and uncompromising approach against terrorism. He underscored that state-sponsored cross-border terrorism continues to threaten the sovereignty of nations and must not be ignored under any circumstances.
"We must not lose sight of state-sponsored cross-border terrorism which attacks the very sovereignty of a nation state," Singh stated during his address. He further asserted that the SCO should not hesitate to take appropriate action against entities and nations that support, shelter, or facilitate terrorist activities.
In a stern warning, the Defence Minister highlighted that "terrorism epicentres" are no longer beyond the reach of accountability or response. Referring to India’s military action under Operation Sindoor, he described it as a clear demonstration of the country’s firm resolve to counter terrorism decisively and without hesitation.
Singh’s remarks come amid growing global concerns over the persistence of terrorism networks and the challenges posed by inconsistent international responses. His address reinforced India’s position that combating terrorism requires collective responsibility, decisive action, and zero tolerance for any form of support to extremist elements.
The statement marks a significant push for stronger coordination within the SCO framework and sends a clear signal that nations must move beyond rhetoric and adopt concrete measures to eliminate the threat of terrorism in all its forms.
